How Do You Get Rid of Foot Odor

Do you feel embarrassed and annoyed by your smelly feet? Foot odor is a very natural problem and normally comes from sweaty feet and rapidly growing bacteria. These bacteria are also known as brevobacteria, which feeds on foot perspiration and dead skin. Having stinky feet is quite embarrassing, and if you don't do something about it, it will haunt you all your life. It's not difficult to get rid of foot odor. You just need to use preventive measures.

How do prevent foot odor? How do you do to keep feet fresh and prevent shoes odor and stinky shoes? Here are some ways to avoid foot odor:

Wash your feet regularly at least once a day. You can soak your feet in warm salt water for 5-10 minutes to soften the dead skin on your feet. Don't rinse it off. Dry your feet with a towel and make sure there is no moisture left between your toes before putting socks on.

In addition to soaking your feet, you can use a foot scrub in order to reduce the foot odor problem. This is best done with natural home remedy products that have a strong smell. Ginger, radish and lemon are all good products for creating a foot scrub that will truly cleanse your feet. Do this once or twice a week.

You can also use at least five bags of green tea to soak your feet in. The tannic acid in the tea dries out the skin, and the astringent properties help lessen foot perspiration and odor. Do this for 30 minutes a day for a whole week. Also, try Benzoyl Peroxide gel to your feet, this will decrease bacteria growth.

Furthermore, wear cotton socks or moisture-smart socks, as they will absorb perspiration and help keep your feet dry. Change your socks more often if you are exercising. Allow your feet to breathe better and to keep them dry by removing your shoes and socks when you don't need them. Shoes should be breathable. Leather or open shoes (sandals) are better than synthetic ones because they give your feet air. More importantly, try to rotate your shoes in order to give them a chance to dry out.

Nobody likes a smelly feet. The sooner you try these tactics, the sooner your feet will be fresh, clean and odorless and you can show off them whenever you like.
